Property Description for 226 Pacific Street

You have to see 226 Pacific Street to believe it! This masterfully reimagined Boerum Hill townhouse is truly remarkable. This 4-story home is built 86 feet deep on the first 2 floors and finished basement, with light on three sides as well as massive skylights. This 4,700sf townhouse has a massive loft-style main parlor floor, a huge first floor with another enormous entertaining space, and two floors of light, bright gorgeous bedrooms. An open steel stair rises from the main living space to a fantastic roof terrace with planters, decking and gas grill. The parlor floor kitchen is simply stunning, with a massive island topped with a warm grey Pietra Cardosa stone counter and two separate Calacatta marble work surfaces. Re-claimed original beams from the cellar have been repurposed as open shelving, and custom designed white cabinetry has an incredible amount of storage. Top-notch appliances include a 48-inch Sub-Zero refrigerator, 6-burner Wolf range, Wolf under-counter microwave, and Miele dishwasher. A separate bar area holds an under-counter wine refrigerator. The party continues up on the roof terrace, or down the rear open stairs to the lower level media room with another wet bar. A guest suite on the first floor has a stunning en-suite bathroom, and this floor also has tons of storage and a laundry room. On the third floor, two bright, cheerful bedrooms share a crisp, white marble bathroom. The master suite occupies the top floor, with a peaked roof, gas fireplace, and beautiful skylit bathroom with dual-sink Basaltina vanity. Back downstairs, the cellar is completely finished with exposed beams and tiled floor. A huge media room or home gym at the rear has great light from South facing windows, with a door to the small patio area. The rest of this 1,200sf finished cellar includes two large separate storage areas, and the perfect spot for a wine cellar. Every inch of this home has been re-vamped, with brand new 7 1/2-inch oiled oak floors, all new plumbing and electrical service, two brand new gas fireplaces, custom lighting, all new windows and doors, and a fully restored stoop and facade. 226 Pacific Street is incredibly well located, with Court St, Smith St and Atlantic Ave shopping and dining at your doorstep, an easy stroll to Brooklyn Bridge Park, and all major subways close by at Borough Hall. This incredible home, designed by a talented, visionary design team, simply must be seen!

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
