Property Description for 236 Lexington Ave

This truly remarkable and fantastically gut renovated 4-story, 2-family brick townhouse will captivate you from the moment you arrive. Enter the parlor floor to be greeted by a vibrant tiled foyer with coat closet and original door that opens to the living/dining area. Decorative mantles, wide plank hardwood floors and exposed brick are just some of the eye catching details that make this meticulously renovated 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom owners triplex extremely warm and inviting. At the rear the open chefs kitchen wouldn't be complete without top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances including Wolf convection oven with 6 stove top burners, Bosch dishwasher, Subzero fridge and farmers sink with divider, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry with various cabinet sizes for lots of storage and center island with bar stool seating. Off the kitchen with tree top views a large wooden deck with water spicket and electrical outlet makes this and the finished backyard a perfect place to entertain. Paradise can be found just 1 flight up on the 2nd floor master suite starting at the rear the large bedroom with decorative fireplace, walk-in closet that leads to a lavish full bathroom en suite has both a deep soaking bathtub and stand up shower, dual sink vanity with large medicine cabinet mirrors above and that leads to a front room that could be used as a home office or sitting room or keep that sliding door in the bathroom closed and use it as a fourth bedroom. The top floor is home to the gas/vented washer/dryer closet in the hallway, two more large bedrooms one located in the front and the other in the rear both with full bathroom en suite bathrooms with skylights in the stand up showers. Last but not least there is a private finished roof deck with stunning treetop Brooklyn and Manhattan city views. Comparable to the triplex in detail and level of finish the garden rental occupies the ground floor and finished basement, open living/dining/kitchen layout with large center island with bar stool seating, stainless steel appliances and floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, solid hardwood floors on the ground floor and tile in the finished basement was all designed with a minimalist approach. The well lit tiled full bathroom with bathtub and vanity is where just some of the charm can be seen throughout this second unit. Two tranquil bedrooms in the rear one of which has a door to the backyard and both feature closet space and great natural light. The spacious finished basement is more than just a good place for storage because of it's high ceiling height and includes gas/vented washer/dryer located across from the half bathroom. Both units are fully upgraded with split level heating and cooling systems. 236 Lexington Avenue located in prime Western Bed Stuy is situated among some of the best restaurant and cafes in the area and just a short distance from your choice of grocery stores plus the A/C and G trains.

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
