Property Description for 832 Broadway, 2-FLR

This immaculate three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom Greenwich Village co-op loft combines oversized proportions with meticulously executed interiors you'd expect to find in a new-construction condominium. The architect-designed full floor home conveys serenity and refinement the moment you enter. Benefitting from rows of extra-tall windows facing both east and west, light ambles throughout the space while poured concrete floors and 12-foot-tall illuminated tray ceilings set a dramatic tone.

Arrive via keyed elevator entry to find a vast open-plan great room ready to accommodate grand living, dining and entertaining spaces. Tall columns and walnut detailing add visual interest while six spectacular west-facing, nearly floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with light. Chefs will adore the roomy separate kitchen featuring rows of sleek cabinetry, long stone countertops, an oversized farm sink and top-of-the-line appliances by Wolf and Sub-Zero, including dual ovens, a 5-burner Wolf vented gas cooktop, dishwasher, built-in microwave and wine refrigerator.

The expansive master suite features four partially frosted east-facing windows which provide the perfect combination of light and privacy. Rows of closets and built-ins neatly accommodate wardrobe and storage, and two doors lead to the decadent en suite glass-tile and marble bathroom where radiant heat slate floors, a freestanding jetted bathtub for two, separate wet room shower and dual-sink vanity await. The second spacious bedroom suite offers excellent closet space and an equally well-appointed en suite bathroom. Off the great room, a handsome paneled study easily doubles as a private guest room with an en suite bathroom of its own.

Every square inch of this refined loft home has been designed with style, comfort and convenience in mind. Smart phone programmable Savant home automation controls multiple systems; multi-zoned central air conditioning runs throughout; there's a convenient in-unit washer-dryer; multiple access points via stair and service elevator; and a projector and recessed screen create an on-demand in-home theater.

832 Broadway was originally built in 1896 for the manufacture of neckties. The brick and limestone building is a stately turn-of-the-century loft building converted to boutique co-op use in 1982. The building offers private keyed elevator access, video intercom, part-time superintendent, bike room and extremely low monthlies. Set in prime Greenwich Village/Union Square, between 12th and 13th Streets, you're surrounded by great shopping, dining and entertainment.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
