Property Description for 689 Myrtle Ave, 1-I

When you step into this gorgeous condo, you feel as if you're walking into a house, not an apartment! With almost 1600 square feet of living space, 17' ceilings, enormous west-facing windows and a flexible layout, this truly is a one-of-a-kind home. The large living area has a wall of custom built-ins which provide great storage and a wonderful home entertainment area. The open floor plan allows for multiple configurations with plenty of space for a separate dining area. There is no shortage of work or storage space in the large, renovated kitchen, complete with solid wood cabinetry, granite counters, marble subway tile back splash, stainless steel appliances, and a large island with room for seating. The renovated bathroom has classic white subway tile, a full-size Jacuzzi bathtub, a new vanity and beautiful mosaic tile floors. The elevated office/sitting area could easily be converted into a SECOND BEDROOM (the floor can be dropped back down ), while the patio off the kitchen offers a slice of outdoor space. Up the lovely staircase you'll find the large master bedroom which has exposed brick and a walk-in closet area. The second room on the upper level, currently used as a nursery, would be a great place to ADD A SECOND BATHROOM. There are beautiful, wide-plank hardwood floors throughout the apartment, an in-unit washer/dryer, and central air and heat.

Located in the Chocolate Factory condominiums, a pet-friendly elevator building with the fantastic amenities including a shared green roof deck with stunning panoramic views, a glass-enclosed rooftop gym and recreation room offering the same views, bike storage, Verizon Fios and a full-time super. The convenient location is four blocks from the subway, surrounded by great shops, dining and bars, and conveniently located near the Pratt Institute, the YMCA, Home Depot, and a zip car lot.

(Please note, the building's offering plan designates this as a studio apartment.)

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
