Property Description for 407 East 12th Street, 4-FSE

Amazing, Sun-drenched, East Village Triplex Condo with a total of about 1600 sqft of indoor and outdoor space that feels like your own private townhouse sitting above a tree-lined park. Every room in this beautiful residence has southern views and gets sun all day long. Both bedrooms include en-suite bathrooms and, coupled with very low monthly fees, you have the makings of the perfect downtown home with open views and a sense of character that is absent from the new cookie-cutter construction in the area. A welcome skylight graces the stairwell library, negating any need for artificial light during the day. All the rooms have high ceilings and the beamed, vaulted ceiling in the 2nd bedroom provides a cozy touch of loft. The kitchen includes a pantry with a vented washer-dryer. Off the master there is a mezzanine level walk-in closet and there are ample storage areas on each floor. 4FSE has one of the only truly private rooftop terraces in the building which includes two distinct north and south facing areas that are great for dining, sunbathing or entertaining as well as a step-out terrace off of the master bedroom. Terraces are landscaped and include an irrigation system, electricity, and a covered nook that could be used as a gardening prep area, outdoor wet bar, or outdoor shower. The building has an on-site super, a package receiving area and a common ground floor courtyard with fountain that lends the building a European flair. 407 east 12th is close to both Union Square, Tompkins Square Park and all the amazing restaurants and boutiques that the East Village has to offer.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
