Property Description for 431 Classon Ave, 4-A

This absolutely beautiful light filled top floor 2 bedroom 2 bath home located on the cusp of two wonderful Brooklyn neighborhoods, Clinton Hill and Bed-Stuy is a dream come true. Currently, used as a 1 bedroom (one bedroom has been opened up to include the living room) 1 bath (the second bath has been converted to a walk-in closet) this apartment has been tastefully improved, has super high ceilings, approximately 11 ft, lovely original wood floors and charm beyond the new. The kitchen boasts both space and light with white cabinetry, appliances and even a window. The living room is expansive with unparalleled views of downtown Brooklyn most notably the gorgeous view of the Williamsburg Savings Bank building. The home is cool and airy as there are two ceiling fans and a recently installed mini-split cooling system which cools the entire apartment. The walk-up building is very nice with only 9 units, and includes the use of a shared roof. The basement has 2 washers and 2 dryers, however, W/D are also permitted in the unit. The condo is financially sound, has a new roof, has recently been re-pointed, freshly painted walls and shortly new tile floors will be laid in the entry as will new carpet on the stairs and landings. There is proximity to transportation the G and C trains, buses, terrific restaurants, even one with a Michelin rating-the pinnacle of epicurean guides, grocery stores, Fort Greene Park and its Farmer's Market and so very much more. Pets are also permitted. This is where you want to be!

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
