Property Description for 121 West 15th Street, GDNDPLX

$1096/foot CONDO! MOTIVATED SELLER -- BRING ALL OFFERS! As featured in the New York Times, 6sqft, NBC Open House, and NYPost! This distinctively one-of-a-kind garden duplex condo is nestled in a lovingly-restored gated townhome on a quiet treelined block where Chelsea meets the Village and ready for your vision. Keyless entry is through a private entrance leading into a modern eat-in kitchen with concrete counters, Thermador appliances, an extrawide 48-inch SubZero refrigerator/freezer and one of the home's three woodburning fireplaces. A sweeping illuminated glass staircase leads down into a dramatic living room with soaring ceilings, a water feature, wet bar, and large working stone fireplace. Off of the large living space is perhaps the home's most enjoyable asset: the large private backyard with teak hot tub, grill, outdoor wet bar, and lush greenery.
Back upstairs, the private master suite has its own fireplace and quiet views out to the garden beyond. Master also includes en suite bath and a huge walk-in cedar closet. Additionally, the condo includes beautifully-finished Moroccan style bathrooms and 2 more cozy bedroom spaces. To top it off: washer/dryer, central air conditioning, radiant heated floors inside and out (no need to shovel snow), a wine cellar, audio/video throughout and much more. Full security system. Extremely low monthly taxes. Pets and open/short-term leasing and investors are all permitted. Tremendous character and comfort for a discerning resident. Currently tenant-occupied and showings by appointment.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
