Property Description for 234 West 20th Street, 1-B

Your own quiet oasis with private outdoor space in the heart of Chelsea.

This one-of-a-kind light filled and airy 3-bedroom, 3-bath triplex is tucked away on a tree-lined block conveniently situated in the heart of Chelsea.

This recently renovated space is a rare, tranquil find with an open loft-like feel. Upon entering, the space invites you into a kitchen and dining area which is flanked by a gracious living space with soaring ceilings. The distinctive over sized kitchen is fully equipped with high-end Italian cabinetry, a gleaming 6-burner Viking professional series gas range and oven with a fully-vented hood, and a large under mounted sink integrated into Caesarstone quartz countertops. The Bosch dishwasher, built-in Miele wine fridge, and water filtration system make this kitchen a chef’s dream. South facing, sun floods the expanse of the first floor by way of vast skylights. An idyllic setting for gatherings, the living space is equipped with a gas fireplace which is the focal point of the home, creating a cozy ambiance.

Ascending the floating staircase from the kitchen and living space to the upper level, one can enter perhaps the apartment’s most important feature, your own private rooftop sanctuary. This south facing terrace has been beautifully planted, provides ample seating areas, and can also be accessed directly off of your master suite. The luxurious master suite possesses a wood-burning fireplace which brings a sense of old-world charm, while a fully-renovated bath with a glass-walled steam shower and double vanity brings a touch of modern comfort and convenience. A large walk-in closet, coupled with another deep closet tucked behind the stairs ensures that you will have ample storage space.

Descending the stairs from the living space one discovers a multi-purpose room that is quiet, cozy and extremely private. The lower level has its own renovated full bath and a large walk-in closet making the possibilities endless for this space, whether they be a guest suite, media room, or recreational space.

This boutique condominium is conveniently-located near all major subway lines, a short distance from both Chelsea Market and the High Line Park, and boasts extremely low monthlies in comparison to its competition. Pets are welcome.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
