Property Description for 689 Myrtle Ave, 2-I

Finally, the Brooklyn loft you’ve been waiting for!

Welcome home to unit 2I at 689 Myrtle Avenue, a stunning, sun-filled 1182 square-foot 2-bedroom plus office corner loft with soaring 13 foot ceilings. This one-of- a-kind airy home has been redesigned to maximize usage and features gorgeous open-sky views through oversized windows. Flooded with light, the sprawling living and dining area make this a perfect home for entertaining.

Featured in Curbed New York, Unit 2I has undergone a complete custom renovation unlike anything you’ve seen. The renovated open kitchen was updated with marble-tiled island, stainless steel countertop and new Bosch appliances including dishwasher. Cleverly tucked away is a custom built breakfast banquet and best of all a balcony to step unto for fresh air.

Up the redesigned staircase with built-in hidden storage, enter into your expansive master bedroom with large walk-in-closet. A second bedroom or den has approximately 6.5 ft ceilings and adds another 200 square feet of usable space. Additionally, this home features a separate bonus area perfect for your home office. Storage space is abundant throughout the unit with multiple walk-in-closets, overhead storage and an enormous pantry.

With your own in-unit washer/dryer and central heating and A/C, this loft has all of the modern conveniences while still offering an exceptional and unique space. Low common charges and taxes make this unit an ideal investment.

689 Myrtle Avenue is a loft condo conversion with elevator originally built as a chocolate factory in 1947. The building was the first in Brooklyn to have a green roof; a serene outdoor space gorgeously landscaped with native plants and crickets, with 360 degree views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The one-a- kind roof deck wraps around a private glass enclosed fitness center. With the G train at Myrtle-Willoughby only 2 and a half blocks away, Citibikes 1 block away and many bus routes nearby, 689 Myrtle Avenue is a convenient location at the crossroads of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill. Close to amazing neighborhood restaurants, bars, and coffee shops, we welcome you to make this very special unit your new home!

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
