Property Description for 219 West 14th Street, 5-R

This masterfully designed and renovated large one-bedroom is located on the border of Chelsea and the West Village and features the ultimate private rooftop. Enjoy all the conveniences of the central 14th Street location without any of the clamor, as this residence is situated in the rear of the building and faces north boasting a sunny, quiet exposure and expansive city views.

The ascent up four flights of stairs is well worth it as one enters the bright living room with its wall of large windows, new oak flooring, 11'+ ceiling heights and a wood burning fireplace.

The sleek chef's kitchen is outfitted with a Viking stove with vented hood, Miele dishwasher, Leibherr refrigerator, and a washer/dryer. High-end finishes include Carrara Caesarstone countertops and gorgeous Baltic Birch cabinets.

A pocket door leads from the living room to the over-sized bedroom, lined on one side with custom floor-to-ceiling closets and the other with a Corian counter which also functions as a built-in desk. The updated bathroom features a Lavaca vessel porcelain sink, double vanity mirror and glass shower enclosure.

A spiral staircase in the living room transports you to an urban oasis — a 450-square-foot private roof deck with open city views, ideal for relaxing and entertaining and equipped with a hose bib for your landscaping needs as well as electricity.

219 West 14th Street is located on the north side of 14th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues — central to the West Village, West Chelsea and the Meatpacking District. Convenient to almost every subway line and the M14 bus. Condo application required.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
