Property Description for 235 East 57th Street, 6-B

Every square inch is a work of art in this completely reimagined one-bedroom, one-bathroom home in a coveted Sutton Place/Midtown East cooperative. This immaculate, move-in ready home has been carefully redesigned to maximize space, storage and light while incorporating premium finishes and designer touches throughout. The result is a beautiful oasis equally suited to gracious entertaining or quiet relaxation. Stunning deep-stained wide-plank floors invite you inside to discover large north-facing windows decorated with handsome shutters, tall ceilings dotted with recessed lighting, and a chic stone feature wall in the spacious living room. Wisely enlarged and opened up, the renovated kitchen is a masterwork in form and function thanks to rows of beautiful cabinetry, sleek granite countertops and premium KitchenAid stainless steel appliances, including a gas range, dishwasher, wine refrigerator and built-in microwave. The serene bedroom easily accommodates a king-size bed and additional furniture, and the sleek modern spa bath is equipped with a large walk-in rain shower, gleaming fixtures and great storage. In fact, a premium has been placed on storage throughout the home, which includes three oversized custom closets. With its pin-drop quiet rear position and spaciousness, the B-line is one of the most coveted layouts in the building, and thanks to its meticulous gut renovation, you won't have to lift a finger to make this designer showplace your peaceful new home. 235 East 57th Street is a white-brick postwar cooperative where residents enjoy 24-hour doorman service, live-in superintendent, laundry, updated common areas, and two lovely outdoor spaces, including a garden and roof deck. Generous board policies permit pets, subletting and pieds-à-terre with approval. Located at the desirable intersection of Midtown East and Sutton Place, New York's best attractions fill the nearby blocks, and Whole Foods Market is right across the street. Enjoy the world-class luxury shopping that unfolds just to the west, and the abundant nearby Michelin-starred restaurants, like Aquavit and The Modern. As for outdoor space, head to the glorious East River promenade for waterfront strolls and a large dog run or to Central Park just six blocks away. Access to transportation is excellent with 4/5/6, N/Q/R/W, E and F/M trains all nearby.

Midtown East | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Midtown West and Midtown East have a lot in common. They’re bustling, iconic, and full of people. But just like siblings, their personalities can be vastly different. Midtown East is a bit more sophisticated and doesn’t quite have the vivacity and unruliness that its westerly counterpart exudes.

Midtown East is bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 5th Avenue to the west, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is famous for its high-end stores, tourist attractions, posh hotels (budget ones too), and iconic architecture. Midtown East is also one of the largest financial and business hubs in Manhattan. During normal business hours the sidewalks are full of commuters and people moving from point A to point B. In the early evening, when the masses have left for the day, things suddenly get a little quieter and the sidewalks have a lot less foot traffic.

Although largely a commercial neighborhood, residential areas of Midtown East do exist on the eastern section of the neighborhood.

Grand Central Station is located in Midtown East and like Midtown West, it’s an extremely commutable neighborhood. The 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains whisk people in and out of the neighborhood 24 hours a day. Grand Central Station also serves as a hub for New York State and Connecticut commuter rails. These trains can take you anywhere along the Hudson River or up into Connecticut. It’s perfect for day tripping.
