Property Description for 764 Bergen Street, 4-B

Welcome home to this excellent 2 Bed - 1 Bath - Private Balcony oasis at the convergence of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights! An easy commute to Manhattan, but nestled between two wonderful Brooklyn neighborhoods. 764 Bergen Street is a boutique building that has a beautiful community roof deck and a bike storage room.

#4B is on the top floor with maximum sunlight and minimum sound. You walk in on light oak hardwood floors and enter into an open Chef’s Kitchen with a vented hood above the gas stove and oven. There is a dishwasher, microwave, and double-door refrigerator, with a wide swath of quality cabinets above and below the granite countertop and appealing backsplash. The large kitchen island is ideal for food preparation and simultaneous dining space with stools on the far side.

The Open Kitchen spreads into a spacious Living Room with a Private Balcony (72 sqft) overlooking a vibrant garden of Brooklyn backyards. We are facing south over these green yards, and the sunlight constantly streams into the apartment.

The two bedrooms are on either side of the apartment, providing the greatest amount of privacy for each room. The Master Bedroom has a large Walk-In Closet with internal lighting and custom shelving. Both bedrooms easily accommodate King Sized Beds, and have beautiful sunlight all year.

The Bathroom has a lovely combined Bathtub and Shower with a glass partition and a blue tile accent wall that matches with the kitchen backsplash. Lots of storage designed into the Bathroom with Inset Shelvings in the walls of the Shower, a mirrored and illuminated Medicine Cabinet, and a sleekly modern under-sink Vanity Cabinet. Adjacent to the Bathroom is a Vented GE Washer and Dryer.

All of this is located a few short blocks from Prospect Park and a myriad of culturally-diverse eateries, cafes, and grocery stores. Prospect Heights and Crown Heights cater to those that love art and there are numerous art galleries and museums, such as the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. For those that love to explore, there are various music venues, green spaces like the Botanical Gardens, Grand Army Plaza, and streets lined with famed Brooklyn brownstone homes.

Steps from the vibrant Vanderbilt Avenue, Franklin Avenue, and Washington Avenue… home to Olmsted, Ample Hills, Chuko, Weather Up, Meme’s, Bearded Lady, Tom’s Diner, Sunshine & Co, Mayfield, Chavela’s, Barboncino Pizza, Gladys and many more shops and restaurants. In close proximity to the 2/3/B/Q/C/S Trains.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
