Property Description for 70 East 10th Street, 5-S

Enjoy unobstructed, direct views of Grace Church in this beautifully gut-renovated, mint condition sprawling corner 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in the most desirable line of one of Greenwich Village's most prestigious and best situated co-ops with very low maintenance. Located in the rarely available S-line, this magnificent apartment has been thoughtfully redesigned with an open layout and custom cabinetry throughout. With its tree-lined views, the apartment bathes in light thanks to its plentiful windows and corner exposure.

Each bathroom has been tripled in size with custom marble-top vanities and classic finishes. The master bathroom features double-sinks, an oversized shower and custom storage.

The apartment features extensive, well-appointed closets, including custom shelving and drawers. Built-in cabinetry under each window further maximizes storage and organization. The master suite includes a dressing area with large custom his and hers closets and a floor to-ceiling shoe closet. The second bedroom has an oversized walk-in closet.

Other features include an expansive living room, gracious entry foyer, separate dining area, home-office space, custom window treatments and in-wall A/V wiring.

Prime location in the heart of central Greenwich Village, close to both Washington Square Park and Union Square, as well as numerous subway lines and easy access to both the east and west sides. Whole Foods and Traders Joe's are just a few blocks away.

The Stewart House is a preeminent Greenwich Village building with every amenity one could want. The building's full-service amenities include dual-staffed 24-hour doormen, active porters, live-in super, large maintenance staff, elevator service to the well-priced basement parking garage, a circular driveway, private gym, children's playroom, residents' courtyard, bicycle storage, storage lockers and two separate laundry rooms, all for maintenance that is well below market. Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
