Property Description for 1051 Hancock Street

At 1051 Hancock, live and entertain with ease. The property is a generously proportioned brick, two-family townhouse in prime Bushwick, Brooklyn. Recently revamped, the aesthetic is sophisticated with a bohemian vibe.

The 20ft wide, three-story home boasts a vintage brick facade with a sizeable owner's duplex and a high income producing Two-Bedroom (2BR) One-Bath (1Bath) rental. The expansive Three Bedroom (3BR) Two & a Half Bath (2.5Bath) duplex encompasses 14' ceilings, decorative fireplaces with exposed brick, and a breath taking chef-style kitchen. Additional features include wide-plank white oak flooring, white shaker cabinetry in the kitchen, Ceasarstone countertops, 5-burner range, a Samsung French-door refrigerator and dishwasher. The property is leading edge with Smart Home technology, which includes energy efficient LED lighting, live camera/video intercom that is accessible via smartphone, central heating and cooling, W/D, and SONOS in-wall speakers that connect to a wall mounted iPad.

The master suite offers a luxury retreat experience, overlooking the garden through oversized balcony doors, which lead to both the private terrace and exclusive roof deck. Chic and functional are two words that come to mind when describing the ensuite master bath: white Carrera tiles throughout, an oversized double sink/vanity and rain shower with massage jets. Walk-in closets are found in all three bedrooms, and both the second and third bedrooms are large enough to fit a king bed.

Transportation is a breeze with nearby J, M, Z and L trains making for an easy commute to Manhattan. The local neighborhood offers a plethora of restaurants, nightlife and cultures venues. Local attractions include The Platform Bar, Anda Lucia Bar, The Wilky Bar, Toad Style Restaurant, Macdonough Café, Covert Coffee, Image Gallery, Stale Mater Gallery and many more!

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
