Property Description for 72 68th Street

Open House Cancelled. Thoughtfully reinvented into a rare blend: Modern, Clean and Glamorous. Situated across a lush park, this beautiful home was completely renovated down to every detail.
The first floor has an open plan layout that is bathed in sun pouring in from the skylight. The lighting fixtures throughout are a designer's dream.
The gleaming new kitchen has Carrera countertops and backsplash, shaker-style cabinetry in an elegant ash finish, all new stainless steel LG appliances and a porcelain tile floor.
A sliding door takes you out to a lavish, fully Trex-decked back yard, perfectly sized for entertaining many guests. Equipped with electric awnings, new lighting and a new fence, this a maintenance-free private outdoor space. The spa whirlpool and stone zen water fountain complete your own outdoor sanctuary.
Behind the yard you'll find a private gated community drive that brings you to your own garage and entrance to the back yard. Parking is never an issue with both an outdoor and in-garage spot.
The upstairs level has a master bedroom with a decorative modern fireplace. The two other bedrooms are currently used as a double office and a dressing room. The bathroom is outfitted in Carrera marble and modern Toto fixtures.
The basement level studio and office space is finished with a kitchen and full bath. This level is accessible from both inside and has its own exterior front door.
Within the last two years all the walls in the house were refinished, new floors and ceiling moldings were installed, interior and exterior doors and all windows were replaced. Also replaced were the roof, electrical system, water heater, air conditioning and heating system. A new security system with cameras, and an automatic garage door were installed. There is no detail overlooked in this move-in ready home. Few houses have been renovated like this, it is truly an extraordinary house.
Located in Bay Ridge, this home is across the street from Owl's Head Park and down the block from the harbor, its bike path and the pier. And now there is a ferry in addition to the express busses to Manhattan and the R train- multiple options for an easy commute.

Bay Ridge | Brooklyn

Lush front yards and trimmed hedges are pretty common in Bay Ridge.

Quick Profile

Bay Ridge is an old-world neighborhood neatly tucked into the southwest corner of Brooklyn within the shadows of the Verrazano Bridge. The neighborhood is encircled by the Belt Parkway along the shore line and the Gowanus Expressway inland.

Bay Ridge, long known for its generational pull, has historically been home to a diverse number of ethnic groups. While the area is flush with people of Irish, Italian and Greek descent, these ethnic communities have been joined by larger numbers of new groups, including people with Russian, Polish, Asian and Middle Eastern backgrounds. The Arab American community today in Bay Ridge represents the largest concentration of Arab Americans in New York City.

For many years, Bay Ridge and its waterside location, would attract the affluent. But most of the mansions that once lined Shore Road are long gone and have been replaced by six-story apartment buildings.

Aside from the low-rise apartment buildings, the neighborhood pretty much consists of one and two-family homes. Lush front yards and trimmed hedges are pretty common here.

Current zoning and limitations on building heights restrict any out of the norm development. At present, the future beholds small development on some of the commercial strips and teardowns of older homes for smaller residential projects.
