Property Description for 434 East 52nd Street, 9-D

NO BOARD APPROVAL. This Pre-war expansive one bedroom apartment offers the elegance that is expected from an Emery Roth designed building. The entry foyer with two closets opens to an extremely spacious dining area. Adding to the ambiance is a splendid custom painted wall mural inspired by Camille Corot. The beautifully appointed south facing living room features beamed ceiling, working fireplace and built-in cabinetry. The generously sized bedroom affords ample space for a king bed, windows with custom designed plantation shutters provide south and west exposures, and a walk-in closet is the finishing touch. The en-suite black and white windowed bathroom continues the sophisticated feel of this grand apartment; secondary guest access can be possible. The galley style windowed kitchen provides ample storage for your culinary needs. HVAC units and hardwood floors throughout. This stunning apartment is located on a quiet cul-de-sac and provides easy access to restaurants, shopping, museums, the theatre district and the many amenities Midtown offers. Southgate is a full service doorman building with storage, laundry, bike room, and a private landscaped garden. There is a live-In super and on-site management. Pets, pied-a-terre and guarantors allowed. Maintenance includes electricity.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
