Property Description for 808 Broadway, PH-C

Perched atop the elegant, full-service Renwick at 808 Broadway, this dramatic penthouse boasts lofty, 11-foot ceilings and a lush, private roof deck with quintessential city views! Originally a 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment, this luxurious duplex has been redesigned into an incredible 1-bedroom, 2-bath home with home office, creating an open and expansive living room that stretches the full width of the apartment. With four over-sized, Gothic-style arched windows and bright Eastern exposures, the living room is spacious enough to accommodate a separate dining area making the open flow between kitchen, living and dining ideal for entertaining. The living room also showcases a built-in, floor-to-ceiling book case complete with rolling library-style ladder.
The open chef's kitchen features poured concrete counters and island, excellent storage, and top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, including a Subzero refrigerator, Viking stove, Bosch dishwasher and a 40-bottle wine refrigerator.
Tucked away off of the living room, the custom office area creates a more private extension to the living room and includes a "hidden" murphy bed, perfect for accommodating guests in a quiet area far from the upstairs master suite.
The second bathroom located on the lower level shimmers with serene sea glass tile and just outside it is a full-sized Bosch washer and dryer. The apartment is also fully wired for surround sound.
Upstairs, the sophisticated master suite features excellent storage with an outfitted, walk-in-closet and a master bathroom with spa-like steam shower. Watch the sunrise over a cup of coffee on your beautiful, private terrace with views to the East, North and South. The planters are fully irrigated to keep your rooftop garden lush and low-maintenance. Built-in banquette seating and an outdoor refrigerator make al fresco dining or an evening cocktail a treat in the warmer months.
A private, key-fob controlled storage bin is also designated for this unit.
Built in the late 19th century, The Renwick was named after its legendary architect, James Renwick, Jr. who also designed St. Patrick's Cathedral and neighboring Grace Church. This full service, boutique coop has a 24-hour doorman, live-in Super, bike room, private storage and common court yard. Residents love living in the heart of downtown, just a few blocks from Union Square and Washington Square Park, popular restaurants like Gotham Bar and Grill, The Smith, and Momofuku Ssäm Bar, designer shopping, The Strand Bookstore and all of the vibrant amenities of Greenwich Village. Pets are welcome!

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
