Property Description for 704 Broadway, PH

Majestic only begins to describe this spectacular triplex Penthouse. Upon entering the first level of this extraordinary home you will be transported by the elegance and scale of the 19th Century loft-like great room, which boasts painstakingly preserved original details such as cast-iron columns, custom wood-coffered and copper-leafed barrel vaulted ceilings, massive arched windows, and reclaimed wide plank oak floors. The room is flanked on one side by a 17th Century Dutch Tudor working fireplace, and an exquisitely hand carved backlit onyx bar on the other.

Delight in the French Country-inspired gourmet chef's kitchen featuring a La Cornue five burner range and the highest grade stainless steel appliances. Exquisite touches such as the barrel vaulted exposed brick ceiling, finely crafted wainscoting, and antique blue marble tiles recovered from a convent in France make the kitchen both impressive and inviting. This level includes two beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms, and a Mahogany paneled library. Just beyond the library, behind hand-carved Moroccan French doors, sits the east-facing Master Suite. This expansive room includes: a basket weave vaulted ceiling, sumptuous wood paneled walls, and an elegant spa-inspired Italian marble master bath.

The upper two levels of this exceptional home form a gorgeous oasis. Either via keyed elevator or stunning staircase with wrought-iron and mahogany banister, entering the second level introduces the splendor of the glass-encased great room with soaring 17'+ ceilings, skylight, and fully equipped home theater, which opens on to an elegantly landscaped garden with sunken fire pit and custom water sculpture. This level also includes an entirely stainless steel chef's kitchen, den/game room, and a fourth bedroom with full en suite bath.

The third level features a superbly appointed massage room, exercise room and the ultimate in great living - a second master suite with suspended fireplace, white oak flooring, dressing room, and en-suite marble bath with sculpted marble sink and soaking tub, floor-to-ceiling windows backlit by LED provide dazzling views and privacy. This bathroom leads to the heated outdoor swimming pool and views as far as the eye can see.

The crowning glory of this unique apartment is a yacht-inspired upper sundeck complete with hot tub. Entertain for 2 or 22 with the wet bar, Lynx outdoor grill, and glare resistant television. The pergola providing a shaded seating era is reminiscent of Tuscany.

This marvelous home is fully equipped with laundry rooms on both the upper and lower levels, radiant heated floors, and Crestron home automation controlling lighting, shades, HVAC and AV systems throughout.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
