Property Description for 288 West Street, 6-E

This convertible two bedroom plus home office loft is filled with the character and charm of a converted spice warehouse, situated directly across from the Hudson Waterfront Park! There is 2,200 SF of interior living space filled with 19th century detailing including antique timber columns and beams, exposed brick walls and a wood burning fireplace that all add to the sense of relaxed lofted luxury.

Large windows facing both north and south allow for ample sunlight to fill the great room and features an oversized chef's kitchen with poured concrete countertops and a center island ideal for entertaining. Maple cabinetry and top-of-the-line appliances including a 5-burner cooktop, double Dacor wall oven, and a 50-bottle temperature-controlled wine refrigerator make this the perfect kitchen for the "at-home" chef.

The dining area is thoughtfully laid out adjacent to the kitchen, while keeping it separate but open to the rest of the loft. It is here you will find the apartment's stunning 100 gallon, low maintenance, salt water fish tank that is sure to provide guests the ultimate dining experience.

A hallway leads to the corner master bedroom suite ? a spacious sanctuary which can easily convert to two bedrooms if needed. There are three generous walk-in closets and a fabulous windowed bathroom with tasteful hand-cut glass tiles, a double limestone vanity with brushed nickel fittings, deep jacuzzi soaking tub, and a large walk-in steam shower. At the opposite end of the loft, you'll find the home office and charming mosaic-tiled guest bathroom with custom limestone vanity.

The entire loft is centrally air-conditioned, has a large separate laundry room, abundant storage space, and offers custom recessed lighting. All this, in an established pet-friendly coop with keyless electronic security system and an amazing 1,500 SF landscaped roof garden with wood decking that was recently redesigned complete with grill, living and dining areas and the most spectacular sunsets overlooking the New York Harbor and Statue of Liberty. A serene oasis on the river's edge... call for a private showing today!

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
