Property Description for 141 East 3rd Street, 3-B

An elegantly-proportioned, prewar, 1-bedroom home awaits you in the heart of The East Village. Plenty of sun fills the south-facing living room and west-facing bedroom. Even the kitchen and bathroom have windows! The roomy and charming kitchen features a dishwasher and tons of cabinetry and counter-space. The prewar details make this home special and harken back to it's earlier grandeur: rich hardwood inlaid floors; high, beamed ceilings; large and numerous windows, prewar porcelain sink and tub. Ageloff Towers is a coveted address and a revered, elevator building in a neighborhood full of non-amenity and non-elevator buildings. The impressive lobby is the visitor's introduction to the magnificent Art Deco styling that carries throughout the building's interior and exterior. Not only does Ageloff Towers have passenger elevators but the residents are served by a full-time elevator operator who also will receive packages and dry cleaning and is a go to source for everyday questions and needs. For the budget-conscious, the low maintenance actually includes the electricity! In the basement one finds a well-kept card-operated laundry room, storage room, and free bike storage. There is a small shared outdoor courtyard area where residents will rest while waiting for their laundry to finish up. This immaculately maintained co-op is in the center of The East Village. There are several convenient grocers nearby including The Whole Foods on East Houston. Few neighborhoods offer so many fantastic restaurant options at every price-point. Specialty shops and boutiques are right outside your door. Play sports, buy veggies at the farmer's market, meditate or watch the dogs play in Tompkins Square Park. When you do have to leave home the F and 6 subway trains are nearby. An assessment of $99.54/mo is in place til Dec 2015.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
