Property Description for 874 Broadway, 905

"Robert H. Robertson's McIntyr building, a mix of architectural styles (featuring Byzantine, Romanesque and Gothic features) stands in all its eclectic glory overlooking Union Square.

2010 winner of the coveted Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award - The award is a celebration of outstanding restoration from The New York Landmarks Conservancy

Live in an authentic NYC loft building with over a century of history. Huge south facing Diocletian windows, (large semicircular windows characteristic of the enormous public baths of Ancient Rome) look over Union Square keeping your home bright with natural light from morning to dusk. 14-foot ceiling heights add to the large open airy feeling of your home. Climate controlled year-round by a new, integrated heating and cooling system.

Gut renovated by Space Exploration, an architecture and interior design firm that specializes in designs that sensitively integrate modern amenities and materials with historic elements. Every aspect of your home was considered, down to the smallest details. Custom cabinetry and paneling elements were place throughout the apartment in order to maximize functionality and storage. The millwork, hand-brushed with oil paint in a custom shade, was designed to echo the language and proportions of the Diocletian windows.

The bathroom is clad throughout in stone: Arabescato Cervaiole lines the walls, while the floor is inlaid with custom-cut White Onyx in a herringbone pattern. The massive steam shower is fabricated on all sides from solid slabs of Grigio Carnico, (a dark moody marble) and features an integrated stone bench.

The Chef's kitchen features a new custom steel-and-walnut island. Countertops and backsplash fabricated from thick slabs of Statuarietto marble and the floor is fabricated from slabs of Bardiglio Imperiale marble.

Built in bed is lofted above two tiers of storage, including a deep drawer mounted on heavy-duty truck glides and a discrete compartment concealing a small safe. Concealed electrical is in place should you choose to mount a projector above the bed.

Live life above the Farmer's Market, Whole Foods, Barns & Noble and all the fantastic restaurants and shops that Union Square area has to offer, plus convenient to all major subway lines. Blocks from Madison Square Park (Shake Shack, Eataly and Art Park). The amenities of Flatiron, Gramercy, Chelsea and Greenwich Village surrounding you.

Pied-a-terre and pets are permitted with board approval.
