CONDOMINIUM ( 2,833 sq. ft. approx. which includes lower level/basement/storage space.) LIVE/WORK LOFT WITH approximately 230 sq. ft. of PRIVATE OUTDOOR SPACE! This quintessential CONDO LOFT COULD EASILY BE A 2 possibly 3 BEDROOM WITH CONFIGURATION BECAUSE OF ITS SIZE AND WINDOW CAPACITY on the top floor. (see floor plan) 17 Jay Apt.1 faces SOUTH and sits in the Heart of Tribeca on one of the best streets in a poetic 19th-century landmark building situated on the most coveted cobblestone block. This duplex loft has 13' ceiling height on the top floor with two expansive walls of exposed brick. The lower level/basement has approximately 9' ceiling height and is for storage /recreational space. This loft can easily be configured differently to make many different types of layout. There is a private entrance which opens on to Jay street as well as a common area entrance via the lobby area. There are HUGE floor to ceiling windows at the back of the loft (potential for bedrooms) that lead to the private outdoor space. There are 3 skylights on the outdoor space which generate excellent light for the lower level basement/storage/rec. area. The outdoor space with it's 3 skylights is unique to anything sold on the market. This loft has 3 bathrooms and a washer/dryer. It is very rare to find such a Loft now in Tribeca. The elevator for the building goes to the lower level/Cellar of this unit. All this, in an intimate 5-unit elevator condominium with incredibly LOW monthly charges right in the heart of prime TriBeCa!. The condo is a self managed building with good financials and a condo board package. History at its finest with this Beauty! This property is close to the 1, 2, 3 subway lines, all the great shops and restaurants Tribeca is known for as well as two blocks from Whole Foods and the Hudson River Promenade and currently zoned in the best school area downtown has to offer. Needs some TLC but this could be a diamond in the rough worth the expense to make it your business/home. Call for your scheduled appointment. Thank you

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
