Property Description for 120 West 29th Street, 2

A unique opportunity to live in a boutique loft residence located in Chelsea's Flower District. This spacious loft features an expansive and functional layout of approximately 1875 square feet, with an additional 625 square feet of south facing outdoor space. It has recently gone through a complete luxury renovation, and is set up as 2 bedrooms + 2 full baths. The apartment can easily be set up in an alternate "Convertible 3" layout, creating an additional interior third bedroom/den with an attached bathroom. The incredibly low (and declining) maintenance is subsidized by revenue from a commercial space on the ground floor.

The apartment has an authentic artist loft aesthetic, with original factory windows, painted concrete floors and high 11' ceilings. It is updated with high-end finishes and custom-designed millwork throughout. You get sun and light from both the northern and southern exposures.

The grand open floor-plan living room area features wall-to-wall cabinetry, and abuts the open kitchen for effortless entertaining. The gourmet chef's kitchen features a top of the line Viking range, an integrated Liebherr refrigerator, stainless steel counter tops / appliances, and ample storage space.

The oversized master bedroom offers an abundance of closets and an en-suite master bath that features a double vanity and a deep Zuma soaking tub. Both the master and guest baths feature spa-like walk-in showers, Italian porcelain floors, Caesarstone surfaces, and are outfitted with premium fixtures from Toto and Villeroy+Boch.

The large outdoor area is a true urban Zen oasis. It includes gorgeous Brazilian hardwood fencing, an outdoor cooking area with an integrated Bull grill and a swing. The space is ideal for entertaining.

The loft is in a semi private building (originally built in 1912 as a factory) with only 2 units, and is part of a well-managed cooperative along with 114 -116 West 29th Street. This is one of downtown Manhattan's most rapidly developing neighborhoods. It is close to most major subway lines. Whole Foods, Fairways, Eataly and Trader Joe's are all within a few blocks. Verdant Madison Square Park, the Ace + Nomad hotels and numerous dining options, the Highline and Chelsea's Gallery district are all a short walk away. This residence is at the heart of it all.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
