Property Description for 433 Waverly Ave, 1

Short Term or Long term & Furnished Two Bedroom & Private Garden & PARKING! Landmarked 1849 Carriage House two bedroom Floor-through located on the coveted "Carriage House Row? block on Waverly Avenue in Prime Clinton Hill/Fort Greene. If you are in town for a few months or maybe renovating your brownstone and need a refuge, this apartment is better than an Airbnb and resembles more of a luxury boutique hotel. The apartment is the entire rambling first floor of a landmarked 19th century carriage house and located in the prime area of Clinton Hill near Fort Greene. It is super convenient and close to everything including the C and the G train, and the area's top restaurants, ie Aita, is just down the block or the Michelin Star restaurant, The Finch, which is three blocks away. Often rented by boldfaced names while in town for a movie, it is modern with lots of original details harking back to the days when it was a stable. There are soaring ceilings, stunning enormous 19th century antique doors, bamboo floors, exposed brick walls, and a large flat screen TV. It's a light and quiet space too with the main views over the private garden. The layout is versatile with a bedroom in the front and 55 feet away at the rear of the apartment, a second bedroom, which is currently being used as a dining room/office looking out over the private garden. The bath is a stunning Waterworks limestone bath that has an exposed French shower and rain head. The sink is a huge hand sculpted Waterworks Carrara 36 inch wall mounted sink. There's a full kitchen with a six-foot limestone island, stainless stove, dishwasher and a Waterworks Copper farmhouse 36-inch sink. There's a washer/drier too. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans and dishes as needed. Linens, towels and sheets can be provided as well. Owned by an interior designer, the furniture and interior is comfortable and chic. It is a mix of Heriz rugs, Asian antiques, antique mirrors, several couches, gorgeous Urban Archaeology lighting, a Saarinen white dining table and mid-Century Modern pieces too. The front bedroom has a queen sized bed and in the dining room, conversion to a bedroom is easy: the couch opens up to a queen sized bed. . For privacy, there are 10-foot barn doors on a track which slide shut. Otherwise it makes a great dining room/office. Outside, the garden is teak walled with slate tiles on the ground and about 22ft x15f and is private and quiet. Pets are allowed on a case by case basis and there's a small upcharge. There is Wi-Fi, Direct TV and all utilities are paid by the tenant. Additional amenities are available including all kitchen items, bedding etc. as needed. Conveniently located near shops, restaurants, gourmet stores and transportation. Close to C train and G train and it's a quick trip into Manhattan via Uber. The parking spot is in front of the carriage house and belongs to the house. It is available for an additional fee. The apartment is available June 15 for long and short term leases. For longer leases, the apartment can be rented either funished or unfurnished. Short term leases are furnished only.

Clinton Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Tucked behind the Brooklyn Navy Yard in central Brooklyn is the quiet residential neighborhood of Clinton Hill. Once a strictly working-class neighborhood, Clinton Hill has become known for its elegant brownstones and stately mansions that were built as Manhattanites crossed the East River in the 1920s in search of the supposed health benefits that came from living “on the hill,” which has an elevation of 95 feet. Now you will also find newer luxury apartment and condo buildings interspersed throughout the neighborhood.

The Pratt Institute and St. Joseph College give the area a certain energy that comes from having a college in your town, while it’s leafy streets, some with their original cobblestones, and slower pace attract young families. Millennials and professionals are flocking to Clinton Hill in search of a reasonably priced neighborhood that offers both nightlife and an easy commute to Manhattan. Clinton Hill is a beautiful neighborhood with a suburban feel and firm roots in its past that also offers plenty of urban amenities.

New businesses are showing up in Clinton Hill on a regular basis, adding to the current proliferation of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. As the population changes, new entertainment and nightlife venues are migrating to the area to meet the demand. Barclays Center is within easy walking distance, offering exciting sporting events and concerts.
