Property Description for 738 Broadway, PH-2

Centrally located in Noho, one of downtown Manhattan's most vibrant neighborhoods, the lofts at 738 Broadway are a triumphant example of classic cast-iron architecture skillfully reimagined for luxury living . Originally built in 1867 and known as The Broadway McKenna Building, it was used as a warehouse. Today, it has been restored and transformed, offering contemporary full-floor homes by architect Karl Fischer, and modern interior designs by Andres Escobar.

The Penthouse is nearly 2,400 square feet of interior living space plus a magnificent private 905 square foot rooftop terrace. Through direct elevator access, enter into a sprawling great room that measures 38' feet long by 21.6' wide, with beautiful wide-plank oak floors, soaring ceiling heights approaching 12 feet, and illuminated from above by two skylights. The focal point of the great room centers on a stunning floor to ceiling gas fireplace clad in white Calcutta marble, accentuated by custom LED cove lighting. Over-sized west facing windows allow for ample light and charming city views. The open kitchen boasts custom high-gloss wood cabinetry, quartz countertops, and top-of-the-line appliances by Wolf, Miele, and Sub-Zero, including a full size side-by-side refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, espresso machine and wine refrigerator. The master bedroom features ambient LED cove lighting and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with overflowing Jacuzzi bathtub, separate Dream Light Rain Canopy enclosed shower, Calcutta gold marble, quartz vanity with dual sink and built-in television. The secondary bathroom is sleek in design featuring marble and white quartz finishes and fixtures by Graff and Danze. A state-of-the-art Crestron system provides added convenience; controlling audio (built in speakers are throughout including the roof terrace), electronic shades, and gas fireplace. A laundry room with full sized washer and dryer, three zones of central heating/cooling, and video security/virtual doorman complete this stellar loft home.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
