Property Description for 273 Clifton Place, 4-F

Luxurious duplex living in the sky. Welcome home to residence #4F at 273 Clifton Place, a boutique four floor, eight-unit condo on a tree-lined block in the heart of Bed-Stuy near the Clinton Hill border. Checking in at 1,036 interior square feet, this airy unit can be kept in its current sprawling 1BR layout or easily restored to its original 2BR configuration (see both floorplans). As currently laid out, the sun-flooded living room easily accommodates a spacious living room set and separate dining area, which leads to your very own balcony with plenty of room for a table and chairs; perfect to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The oversized open kitchen features brand-new appliances (GE refrigerator; Bosch dishwasher; Samsung stove and microwave), white quartz countertop with loads of prep space and the capability for a breakfast bar, and lots of cabinet space. Off the entry foyer is the full bathroom, tastefully designed with a contemporary custom vanity and mosaic details. Other first-floor goodies include a pocket door to create privacy to the upstairs chamber, a large skylight, and extra storage space behind the stairway, perfect for wine, luggage, or anything else you'd love to tuck away.Trot upstairs to the king-sized master suite, which has a W/D, its own massive skylight, two large closets, and your very own roof terrace with drip irrigation system, planters on a water timer, lovingly cared for perennials already planted (dwarf lilac; honeysuckle; and yellow daylilies), and wonderful brownstone, treetop, and city views! You'll also enjoy central A/C (including a brand-new split system upstairs), exceedingly low monthly costs (taxes are currently abated), a storage unit downstairs, and extreme privacy. 273 Clifton Place is a self-managed condominium with excellent financials and pristine location. Well worth the three short flights up. Pets are permitted. Don't pass up your chance to live in this unique and special property!

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
