Property Description for 37 Murray Street, 5-B

IN CONTRACT. OPEN HOUSE CANCELLED. Located in one of the more exclusive boutique loft buildings in Tribeca, this spectacular penthouse is unparalleled in both proportion and depth. Spanning two levels, with two terraces and boasting almost 12 foot ceilings, this double wide home provides a true loft experience that is rarely available today. One enters into a breathtaking, oversized living/dining room which extends more than 37 feet in length, providing an ideal canvas for the display of even the most extensive art collection. The entire living room is flanked by deep set eastern facing windows which showcase superb light and dramatic cityscape views, which can be enjoyed from the room's built-in window seating. The home's open chefs kitchen is outfitted with abundant custom cabinetry flanking two of its sides, and contains a rarely found walk-in pantry for ample additional storage and a smartly outfitted full laundry room is equipped with an oversized washer/dryer that vents out and also serves as a fantastic additional storage room. The kitchen includes crisp stone counter tops offset by top of the line stainless steel appliances and a water filtration system. The space is further enhanced by dark walnut stained floors throughout. The sky lit staircase is warm and inviting, and leads one directly into a unique upper layout that opens with a grand living space adorned with two terraces on either side. The master bedroom is it's own wing, with an en suite bathroom, custom closets, and two exposures, one directly onto the terrace. The master bathroom contains a double vanity, deep soaking tub, a glass-enclosed European shower, and is finished with jerusalem stone and a malecite vanity. The second bedroom is a split layout, with its own wing and bathroom, and like the rest of the loft offers superb proportion and light. The third bedroom is front facing, and is located off from the great room and offers its own full bath as well as a powder room for guests. Both terraces offer water irrigation systems, with the main terrace outfitted with beautiful lighting and built in seating. Completing this spectacular picture are the home's electric blinds, central air, security system, AV protection on all windows and skylights to protect art and furniture, and abundant storage. The super is on site daily, and 37 Murray is a pet friendly building.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
