Property Description for 101 Leonard Street, PH-A

Expansive, the Penthouse at 101 Leonard couples 2,829 sq. ft. of interior space and 769 sq. ft. of terrace space with exquisite efficiency. Conceived by SLCE Architects and Mitchell Freedland Design, this exceptional 4 bedroom - 4 bathroom loft-like apartment at 101 Leonard is the archetypical TriBeCa penthouse against which all others are measured.

Facing both South and West, this corner unit tops out with ceilings soaring between 10' and 15', ensuring that it is as spacious as it is sun-drenched.

From the forests of Europe and the quarries of Italy, the hardwood oak and Carrara marble that grace the apartment do so in red-carpet, uber-luxury style, guaranteeing entrants finely finished flooring wall-to-wall.

Designed with the entertainer in mind, the windowed kitchen is a culinary artisans playpen, replete with counters of quartzite, appliances by venerable Miele, a wine fridge by Sub-Zero, custom over-sized pantry, and bodacious breakfast bar.

The Master living quarters possesses the prototypical walk-in closet, en-suite master bath, freestanding tub, and radiant heated flooring. The second bedroom has these features as well.

A large laundry room within the apartment and a personal storage unit complete this grand exemplification of premium penthouse living.

101 Leonard, at the intersection of Broadway, heralds a triumphant sweep of luxury into the epicenter of TriBeca, featuring amenities of the finest quality, such as 24-hour white-glove attended lobby, a furnished roof terrace, children's play facility, and bicycle storage, amongst others.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
