Property Description for 161 Maiden Lane, PH-1

This unparalleled, top-of-tower Duplex Penthouse at 1 Seaport spans a gracious 4,489 square feet and features four bedrooms, four baths, one powder room and three beautiful private terraces with awe-inspiring, panoramic views. The dramatic double-height living area is surrounded by epic 360 degree city and water vistas, highlighted by New York City's most notable landmarks including iconic bridges, the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center and the Empire State building. The luminous Penthouse interior by celebrated AD100 designer S. Russell Groves is accented by elegant floor-to-ceiling glass walls. Soaring ceilings rising up to 24 feet maximize the natural light and airiness, while European oak flooring, custom architectural millwork and solid wood doors with satin nickel hardware bring warmth to the residence. Direct elevator access to the main foyer creates an extraordinary first impression upon entering the adjacent 36 foot windowed gallery. A spacious 319 square foot wrap-around balcony off of the living area is ideal for outdoor dining and lounging and brings the incredible water views one step closer. The custom-designed kitchen equipped with integrated Gaggenau appliances and a generous island features Calacatta Gold marble countertops and backsplash, walnut lower cabinetry with concealed pulls and upper cabinetry doors clad in Calacatta Gold marble. The second floor is home to the sophisticated master suite featuring a five-fixture master bath, additional four-fixture bath and expansive walk-in closet and dressing area - all en-suite. The master bath's limestone feature wall stretches from the shower to the custom walnut vanity and mirror, while a luxurious free-standing tub is perched atop a slatted teak deck providing a nautical yet spa-like retreat. Floors and walls are clad in Calacatta Gold marble and bespoke bath fittings in satin nickel with wood details have been custom designed by Groves & Co. An additional 116 square foot balcony off of the master suite offers beautiful, sunset views from a higher perspective. The powder room features an elegantly bold design with dark Africa St. Laurent marble walls, a contrasting Calacatta Gold vanity and floor and distressed brass accents including a custom backlit floor-to-ceiling mirror. A washer and dryer in the private corridor complete this beautifully crafted residence.

1 Seaport, the first all-glass residential tower at the Seaport, Manhattan's oldest new neighborhood, offers an unprecedented waterfront lifestyle. Rising to a height of 670 feet, the 80 homes are encased in floor-to-ceiling glass and feature interiors by Groves & Co. The waterfront lifestyle includes a 24-hour concierge, attended private porte-cochere and two levels of amenities that overlook the river. The Water Club - a full-floor experience on the 30th floor - offers 360 degree views of the harbor, bridges and landmarks that define Manhattan. The immersive retreat includes a glass-edged horizon pool, misted waterfall passageway, sun terrace and relaxation lounge. This is well-designed drama. The first soaring residential tower at the Seaport is surrounded by the best of the new Downtown including Brookfield Place, One World Trade Center and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Financial District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Financial District (FiDi) today is a bit of a hybrid neighborhood, as the residential component continues to grow in an area that has been historically dominated by the financial and insurance industries. The residential experiment, which began more than two decades ago, continues to evolve in an area with a large concentration of older, large office buildings. Developers have taken to these aged buildings and have re-positioned them as residential properties. In turn, the public spaces, services and retail establishments needed for a thriving residential neighborhood have followed making this an important destination for city residents.

Since 2000, the residential population of the Financial District has nearly tripled in size from about 23,000 residents to more than 60,000 inhabitants. Many of the residential pioneers to FiDi were people attracted to the lower rents in the neighborhood, particularly the post-collegiate crowd. While the millennials still maintain a large footprint here, there are plenty of families that now consider the Wall Street area home.

Many of those that live in the Financial District walk to work. If you reside here and need to commute elsewhere, the transportation from here is about as good as it gets. Express trains can take you to Midtown, either east or west, in twenty minutes. Brooklyn is but a single subway stop away. There are also ferries across to Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
