Property Description for 290 West Street, 5-B

Stunning 2,241 sf 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom residence at 290 West, the sleek Adjmi & Andreoli-designed intimate boutique condominium on a prime corner site in coveted Tribeca, exuding an elegant, contemporary sensibility that perfectly balances bold presence with graceful luxury. Grand proportions, emphasized by soaring ceilings up to 11' high and massive windows that flood the space with light, complement a rich palette of finishes that includes 5"-wide plank rift-sawn white oak flooring. A gracious entry gallery leads to the sprawling 26'x21" Great Room lined in massive floor-to-ceiling west-facing windows, offering dramatic vistas of the Hudson River and Park. Two sets of pocket doors lead to the eat-in Kitchen, where picturesque views through floor-to-ceiling glass provide an idyllic backdrop for serene mornings in the breakfast area. The Dada chef's kitchen with an additional breakfast bar is exquisitely appointed with imported Italian white matte lacquer cabinetry, honed Carrara Marble countertops and backsplash, and premium appliances by Bosch and Liebherr, elegantly concealed behind white matte lacquer panels. At 463 square feet, the private Master Suite is a true oasis, featuring floor-to-ceiling west-facing exposures, a 13'5"x7'1" dressing area, and beautiful en suite master bath with Tierrasol Casalgrande Terre Toscane flooring, Statuary Marble tiled walls, a double-sink wenge wood vanity by Antonio Lupi, a Zuma soaking tub, and a separate glass-enclosed shower. The generously proportioned second and third bedrooms each feature east-facing windows and en suite baths. A powder room and a full utility room with Whirlpool washer and vented dryer complete this magnificent home. Completely quiet triple-pane windows.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
