Property Description for 290 West Street, PH

One-of-a-kind 3,060 sf, 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom duplex penthouse residence with 1,631 sf of private outdoor space and a separate service entrance crowning 290 West, the sleek Adjmi & Andreoli-designed intimate boutique condominium on a prime corner site in coveted Tribeca, exuding an elegant, contemporary sensibility that perfectly balances bold presence with graceful luxury. Grand proportions, emphasized by soaring ceilings up to 13'2? high, double-height spaces, and massive windows that flood the space with light, complement a rich palette of finishes that includes 5?-wide plank rift-sawn white oak flooring. In the entry gallery, the exceptional light throughout this residence is immediately apparent, as floor-to-ceiling glass windows flood the space with ambient light. From there, the sprawling 26'7?x23'4? corner Great Room is wrapped in the same full-height glass to the north and west, offering stunning panoramic Hudson River and Park views, and flows seamlessly into the double-height Library with triple exposures. Following the glass-lined gallery from the great room leads to the formal Family/Dining Area, which flows seamlessly into the open chef's Dada Kitchen with center island breakfast bar. Exquisitely appointed with imported Italian white matte lacquer cabinetry and honed Carrara Marble, the light-filled kitchen features premium Bosch and Liebherr appliances, elegantly concealed behind white matte lacquer panels. The 400 square foot Master Suite is a true oasis, offering idyllic views through floor-to-ceiling west-facing glass, an en suite dressing room, and pocket doors that lead to a sumptuous en suite windowed master bath with Tierrasol Casalgrande Terre Toscane flooring, Statuary Marble tiled walls, a double-sink wenge wood vanity by Antonio Lupi, a separate glass-enclosed shower, and a freestanding Americh soaking tub carefully positioned beneath the east-facing window to offer tranquil views. The second bedroom faces west with massive exposures and an en suite bath, while across the hall, the third bedroom faces east, also with en suite bath. A fourth bedroom with south-facing windows and en suite bath, as well as a powder room and utility closet with Whirlpool washer and vented dryer complete this level. Upstairs, a private roof deck is the ultimate retreat; spanning 1,631 square feet, the terrace is open to the north, south, and west, capturing stunning city, park, and river vistas, and features a private pool, a truly exceptional space befitting a truly exceptional residence. Closing beginning end of Summer 2015. Completely quiet triple-pane windows.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
