Property Description for 290 West Street, PH-B

This quiet and elegant duplex boasts gorgeous, unobstructed water views from almost every room and features direct access to the Hudson River Park. With 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, this penthouse condominium at Adjmi & Andreoli-designed 290 West Street is truly the perfect TriBeCa apartment.

The first floor is finished with immaculate white oak flooring which pairs well with the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Hudson River, providing stunning natural light throughout the day in the living room, dining room, and eat-in kitchen. The living room opens up to a private 420 square foot terrace facing west which lends well for entertaining against the jaw-dropping sunsets. A large, eastern facing window allows all day light in the Dada eat-in kitchen, which is complete with Bosch and Liebherr appliances, a walk-in pantry, and a built-in seating banquette.

The stunning living room with 11'3" ceilings features an ethanol burning fireplace wrapped in extra polished Bianco marble. Separating the living and dining rooms is the architectural metal, glass and oak staircase - truly a work of art on its own. The dining room, also featuring open water views, is accented by a built-in bar with custom cerused oak cabinets, an icemaker, and a beverage refrigerator. A powder room and large coat closet complete the floor.

On the second level, the 510 square foot master suite includes two walk-in closets and a grand master bathroom with separate shower and soaking tub. Floor-to-ceiling windows make up the western wall of the suite, providing stunning light and water views from bed and bath. Also on this level are two additional bedrooms, one with exquisite river views and the other facing east with wonderful daytime light. Both include full ensuite bathrooms with glass enclosed bathtub and shower. A separate laundry room and linen closet complete this floor.

A custom Crestron system controls the lights, shades, music, and television functions. Integrated speakers and a Honeywell security system are also in place.

290 West Street is a boutique condominium building at the apex of TriBeCa. With only 13 units in the building, additional features include a full-time doorman, fitness room, bicycle storage, and common courtyard. Steps to Hudson River Park and all of the activities it has to offer, and conveniently located for an easy trip uptown or across the river, 290 West Street is an ideal place to call home.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
