Property Description for 290 West Street, 2-A

The 2nd floor at 290 West starts 20 feet up in the air (3rd floor level of most buildings), and has the highest ceilings in the building, excluding the penthouses. Stunning 2,513 sf 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom residence with triple exposures at 290 West, the sleek Adjmi & Andreoli-designed intimate boutique condominium on a prime corner site in coveted Tribeca, exuding an elegant, contemporary sensibility that perfectly balances bold presence with graceful luxury. Grand proportions, emphasized by soaring ceilings up to 11' high and massive windows that flood the space with light, complement a rich palette of finishes that includes 5?-wide plank rift-sawn white oak flooring. From the gracious entry gallery, a sprawling 26'10?x25'2? corner Great Room is wrapped in oversize windows that frame dramatic, protected Hudson River and Park views. Perfectly designed for seamless living and entertaining, the exceptional space flows into the open chef's Kitchen, also featuring floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Park and River. Flooded with natural light, the exquisitely appointed Dada kitchen features imported Italian white matte lacquer cabinetry and center island breakfast bar, honed Carrara Marble countertops and backsplash, and premium appliances by Bosch and Liebherr, elegantly concealed behind white matte lacquer panels. At 405 square feet, the Master Suite is a true oasis, offering two large walk-in closets, floor-to-ceiling north-facing windows, and an exceptional 15'4?x11'6? en suite windowed master bath with Tierrasol Casalgrande Terre Toscane flooring, Statuary Marble tiled walls, a double-sink wenge wood vanity by Antonio Lupi, a freestanding Americh soaking tub with floor-mounted Grohe polished chrome fittings, and a separate glass-enclosed shower. The generously proportioned second and third bedrooms each feature south-facing exposures and en suite baths, while the equally gracious fourth bedroom offers north-facing floor-to-ceiling windows. Across the hall, a full bath and a utility closet with Whirlpool washer and vented dryer complete this magnificent home.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
