Property Description for 343 State Street, 1

Nestled between Hoyt and Bond on State Street is a large, bright, meticulously renovated apartment on the garden and parlor floors of a brownstone that feels like a house of its own. You'll enjoy two king-size bedrooms, a private entrance, exclusive garden access, two bathrooms, luxury appliances, and a basement with a washer, dryer, and tons of extra storage space.

On the garden level there is a large (19x11') bedroom and a full bathroom with a tub, hand shower, rain shower, heated towel warmer, and vanity. The rear of this floor features a living/dining room with a full wall of windows that open out into the landscaped garden, and an open chef's kitchen with new custom cabinets, five burner Bosch gas range, vented hood, Miele dishwasher, and a pantry for additional storage.

The landscaped garden is a small paradise, with new flowers blooming each month. It would be perfect for outdoor dining or a peaceful retreat under the rose-covered pergola.

The parlor-level master bedroom (14x18) could only be described as grand. This room boasts 10.5 foot ceilings, two huge windows that overlook the garden and an original (non-working) fireplace. There is an adjoining room off of the bedroom that could be used as an office or dressing area, and features a double-height clothes closet and a half bath.

This block of State Street is one of the most desirable locations in Boerum Hill, It offers quick commutes to Manhattan and surrounding Brooklyn with multiple subway lines (A/C/G trains one block away, and the F/2/3/4/5/B/Q/R trains all within a .3 miles of the house.) Walk to a movie or opera at the world-renowned Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) or enjoy both Michelin-starred restaurants and local favorites just around the corner; jog down Atlantic Avenue to Brooklyn Bridge Park, or take a swim at the YMCA. Great coffee, wine, and a full grocery store (Brooklyn Fare) are a block away, and for times when you need to stock up, Target, Trader Joe's, and a new cinema and food hall, plus all the shops of Fulton Mall are three blocks away.

The apartment comes with lockable storage under the front stoop for strollers and bicycles. Pets on approval, no dogs please. Strict no smoking policy. Please call Lisa to schedule a private showing.

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
