Property Description for 117 Greenwood Ave

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Come fall in love with this adorable and sweet one family home, complete with a one car garage! Located in bucolic Windsor Terrace-this home is in pristine condition throughout. The romantic in you will love the details. Archways, cove ceilings, inset decorative nooks, parquet floors--all are present here.

You'll delight in the fifties era retro kitchen-blue and white, complete with a vintage, restored Supreme-Macy's Stove and a separate and large dining room adjacent. There's room to relax and entertain in the beautiful large living room with cove ceiling and decorative insets. There are two large bedrooms on this level, facing the back of the house and the yard. There are ton's of closets and the doors are original and have restored stainless knobs and keyholes-it's gorgeous.

Downstairs you'll find an incredible playroom-with it's 70's era paneling and wood bar. It has access to the backyard. The front room can be re-worked and turned into an additional bedroom. Please see the alternate floorplan. Most of the houses on this block have turned the first floor adjacent to the garage into bedrooms, or have made the home a legal two family, using this floor as a one bedroom apartment as it is completely above grade.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
