Property Description for 30 Saint Marks Place

30 St Marks Place is a huge well-designed three-family house with pre-war details. Each apartment flows with its own unique layout and over 1100 square feet of space. Features throughout the house include very high tin ceilings, original plank floors, pocket doors, exposed brick walls, original shutters and decorative fireplaces ? all in great condition. All apartments have abundant closet space.
The first floor apartment boasts a large kitchen and big deck leading to the back yard. Great privacy exists between the large master bedroom and comfortable second bedroom at opposite ends of the apartment. There is also an interior room currently used as a home office.
The second floor apartment features a spacious eat-in-kitchen with lots of cabinets and a large pantry. A separate dining room can be closed off from the living room with beautiful pocket doors. The master bedroom is huge and there is a smaller room separated by pocket doors. An additional interior room can be used as an office.
The third floor apartment has similar layout to the second floor but is currently used differently. As you enter, you are welcomed into a dining room with skylight. The dining room flows directly into a creatively designed kitchen with custom Mid-Century Modern cabinetry. A huge walk-in closet or small interior room leads into a large bedroom that can be closed off with pocket doors. The living room at the other end of the apartment is separated from a smaller bedroom with pocket doors; another interior room can be entered through that smaller bedroom or off the central hallway.
This 3600 square foot house is 20.3' wide by huge 60' deep, with 40' deep backyard. Laundry is in the spacious unfinished basement that leads out to the backyard. There are four separate electric and gas meters. This house has great potential and a lot of different configuration options.
The house is well located at the intersection of Boerum Hill and Park Slope, 3 blocks to Barclays Center with its 9 subway lines and LIRR, BAM theaters, Prospect Park and so many restaurants, bars, shops and markets.
Showings start May 15.

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
