Property Description for 140 East 28th Street, 8-K

PRICE REDUCED!! This generously spacious and bright studio is the quintessential New York City apartment located in a central vibrant neighborhood. As one enters through the arched foyer, you feel the stately and elegant details throughout the studio, true to this building's iconic beginnings. Built by Bing & Bing and designed by Emory Roth, 140 E 28th Street joins a long list of prominent buildings throughout New York City completed by this creative duo. Southern sunlight fills the studio, including a window in the kitchen, and cascades over the wood-burning fireplace. Storage is not a concern as 8K offers 3 massive closets plus a dressing room. The kitchen has been opened to allow for more counter space and to create a completely open layout which offers many options to configure the entire unit to your specific needs and design. Electricity costs are subsidized, making this value unparalleled when compared with other surrounding buildings. 28th Street is in the heart of a vibrant, bustling neighborhood with wonderful restaurants and transportation options very nearby. The 6 train is 1 block away. 140 East 28th Street is staffed 24 hours a day with a superb and pleasant staff. Laundry and bicycle storage are in the basement. A stunning roof deck gives views of the Empire State Building and allows you to observe the magic of the city surrounding you. The building allows pied-a-terre as well as co-purchases and guarantors. Plus, pets are also welcome.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
