Property Description for 405 West 23rd Street, 3-I

Welcome to one of the largest and most unique studios at London Terrace Towers! If you like to entertain, cook, relax, and bathe in the lap of luxury this is what you've been waiting for. This extra-wide studio has been gut renovated top to bottom, starting with new oak floors in the foyer and living room.

The open kitchen features an L-shaped counter with white glass countertops and the glass-tiled backsplash marries beautifully with the cool grey porcelain tile floor. All of this is surrounded by rich, warm custom cabinetry and the applianceswell, let's just say that it contains every high-end brand you can think of. The Sub-zero refrigerator and freezer with automatic ice-maker DRAWERS fit snuggly under the counters as do the Wolfe, full-size gas range and the Bosch Full-size quiet dishwasher. A Sharp Convection Microwave above also provides ventilation as does the window above the deep-basin sink with high-arc faucet and pull-down spray.

Around the corner, as you approach the bath, you'll find the deep, double, custom-built California Closets. The same attention to detail and complimentary materials were applied to the bath, beginning with a custom wood vanity with glass countertop and Hansgrohe sink fixtures. The shower and low-profile tub is enclosed in glass, artfully suspended on a barn-door track and outfitted with Hansgrohe Rian shower, hand shower and fixtures. Glass-tile and porcelain-tile walls compliment the Porcelain Tile floors and a lighted mirror with electronic antifogging complete this sleek and luxurious area.

All of this is beautifully lit with custom lighting fixtures controlled with Lutron digital fade dimmers. The windows are dressed with custom fabric top-down/bottom-up window coverings with separate blackout shades.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
