Property Description for 443 Greenwich Street, 4-B

4B at 443 Greenwich epitomizes loft style Tribeca living with all of the desired modern amenities. Upon entering through your private elevator, you are immediately greeted by a generously proportioned foyer with limestone inlay and 8-inch wide white oak floors that lead into the grand living space. The floor-through open loft living space with 11-foot ceilings and custom designed arched windows on both sides bathe this home with warm natural light. An adjacent powder room with leather finished Italian Calacatta marble slab walls and architectural vanity of bronze and glass makes entertaining convenient. This Christopher Peacock designed kitchen leaves little to be desired. Custom wood cabinetry, top of the line appliances, and wet bar surround the 2-inch thick Calacatta marble kitchen island with mirror polished stainless steel legs. With privacy in mind, this brilliantly designed layout separates the bedroom wing from the entertaining space. The south facing master bedroom features an incredible en-suite, spa-like bathroom accented by book matched marble slabs set behind a sculpted deep soaking tub. Radiant heat flooring and a towel warmer complement the large walk-in steam shower with built in stone benches creating a true spa experience. The well-proportioned second and third bedrooms also have ample closet space and en-suite baths. This home also has a service entrance through the laundry room. Residents at 443 Greenwich can enter through an ornamental wrought iron gate on Vestry St which leads to the tile clad private parking area, or through entrance on Greenwich Street secured by a full time doorman and concierge. 443 Greenwich features an urban residential garden courtyard off the lobby and a meticulously landscaped 5,000 square foot roof deck completer with a wet bar, showers for sunbathers, and an active area for children. A 75 foot lap pool, his and her locker rooms with Hamman, and a Wright Fit gym anchor the fitness amenities within the building. Other building amenities include a wine cellar, childrens play room, and bike room.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
