Property Description for 420 East 51st Street, 2-B

IN CONTRACT.

Motivated seller with a large price reduction!
If you're searching for outdoor space in Manhattan, then search no more. This oversized one-bedroom co-op in a full service building is your answered prayer. With 1000 square feet inside and a private south facing garden measuring over 400 square feet, this Beekman area beauty is the rarest find. The exclusive Beekman enclave on East 51st Street offers residents a distinctly European flavor--yet it's steps away from the midtown business district, some of New Yorks finest shopping and an endless choice of fine dining establishments. The Morad-Beekman is a well cared for land-lease co-op with 110 apartments. The land-lease runs through 2070. For a change of pace, the new owner can enjoy the buildings common roof deck with its commanding views of the East River, the United Nations complex and the exciting, ever changing Manhattan skyline. Apartment 2B is on the second floor and access to its garden is from a private staircase off of the living room.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
