SPONSOR APARTMENT - NO BOARD APPROVAL!

DRAMATIC AND UNIQUE PENTHOUSE ON ONE OF THE BEST BLOCKS IN TRIBECA NOW UNDER $15M.

This 3 bedroom (convertible 4 bedroom) triplex PENTHOUSE is comprised of over 7,200 square feet complemented by two private outdoor terraces. The home of an architect widely recognized for his beautifully balanced spaces and uncompromising attention to detail, this space is as functional as it is beautiful. A private elevator opens onto a gallery-like entry foyer, which leads to a dramatic double height living and dining room. The center focal point, a Portero marble wood-burning fireplace (one of four located throughout the home) is flanked by (beautiful)walls paneled in quarter sawn limed oak and illuminated by enormous skylights above that run the entire 38-foot-wide expanse; wenge floors and exposed steel and stone create an ambience that is both monumental and warm. The top of the line kitchen flows seamlessly from the living room and features Bulthaup cabinetry, double ovens, Subzero refrigerator and a 400 bottle walk in wine cellar. A library with walls lined in exotic makore paneling, woodburning fireplace, and a gorgeous bar is a welcoming retreat. Completing this level are two bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, a full sized laundry room and powder room.

A sky-lit staircase leads to a family room which overlooks the living room below. A world apart, the master bedroom has its own dressing room, sitting room and private, south facing terrace. The master bath, with an intricate mosaic marble floor, features radiant heating, a double steam shower, double sinks and tub..

The third level provides access to a fully landscaped private roof top terrace, with a full kitchen including dishwasher and OPEN VIEWS OF TRIBECA AND BEYOND.

Built in the 1860's, 142 Duane Street is a boutique Condop building with only 8 residential units AND FULL CONDO RULES WITH LOW MONTHLY CHARGES in the heart of Tribeca. Great restaurants, shopping, and public transportation are all a stone's throw away.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
