Property Description for 15 William Street, 16-D

At 15 William Street, tenants enjoy an incomparable resort lifestyle in the heart of the vibrant Downtown community. Unlike most other Downtown residential buildings, 15 William was built as a residence and is not a converted office building. Designed by Tsao+ Mc Kown, with hotelier Andre Balazs, the building offers every amenity, and many not found elsewhere: 1/2 court basketball, full gym, a saltwater swimming pool, screening room, outdoor jacuzzi, separate steam, and sauna rooms, a dog run, and a squash court! The newly-renovated Rooftop Lounge has jaw-dropping City and Harbor Views, indoor/outdoor space with a catering kitchen and bar. The D line is a 698 SF studio with a wide layout, easily divided into separate living and sleeping areas. South light pours in through the tall windows, which look out over an iconic streetscape, affording slices of NY Harbor and the East River views. It has a lofty feel, with 9'8" ceilings, and elegant, wide-plank Burmese teak floors. The kitchen features custom white high-gloss lacquered cabinetry, Caesar-stone countertops, fully integrated Liebherr refrigerator, a Miele gas cooktop, Bosch 30' convection oven, Stainless steel GE Microwave and Miele Incognito dishwasher, and a washer/dryer. The ultra-luxe bathroom features a separate shower and water closet enclosure, custom cantilevered Corian vanity and mirror surround, a custom deep soaking tub, and a cedar-lined, walk-in closets. A fun and useful feature are the adjustable, full-height louvered doors that open (or close off) the bathroom to the sleeping area. Transportation is super-convenient in this part of Lower Manhattan, and a wealth of shopping, dining, and outdoor recreational options abound. Call or email to schedule your private tour!

Financial District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Financial District (FiDi) today is a bit of a hybrid neighborhood, as the residential component continues to grow in an area that has been historically dominated by the financial and insurance industries. The residential experiment, which began more than two decades ago, continues to evolve in an area with a large concentration of older, large office buildings. Developers have taken to these aged buildings and have re-positioned them as residential properties. In turn, the public spaces, services and retail establishments needed for a thriving residential neighborhood have followed making this an important destination for city residents.

Since 2000, the residential population of the Financial District has nearly tripled in size from about 23,000 residents to more than 60,000 inhabitants. Many of the residential pioneers to FiDi were people attracted to the lower rents in the neighborhood, particularly the post-collegiate crowd. While the millennials still maintain a large footprint here, there are plenty of families that now consider the Wall Street area home.

Many of those that live in the Financial District walk to work. If you reside here and need to commute elsewhere, the transportation from here is about as good as it gets. Express trains can take you to Midtown, either east or west, in twenty minutes. Brooklyn is but a single subway stop away. There are also ferries across to Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
