Property Description for 177 Ninth Ave, 5-H

A minimalist dream in the heart of prime Chelsea. Introducing 5H, the only wall-to-wall rebuild at the Chelsea Enclave. Crafted by award winning Raad Studio, 5H is an expansive 1800 SF split 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home, impeccably designed to be intuitive and serene.

Flooded with light, six picture-frame windows wrap the living room’s northern and eastern exposures. The 10.5’ high ceilings allow breadth and flow. The imported dutch wide-plank oak floors give comfort and warmth.

Fully equipped with Miele appliances, the chef-sized kitchen is enveloped in raw Carrara marble and custom cabinetry. A stunning marble waterfall island leads to the dining area. The gracious east facing en-suite master bedroom has floor-to-ceiling windows, a separate lounge area, and an oversized walk-in closet. A private spa, the master bathroom features a custom Japanese styled whisper-drain soaking tub, a separate rain shower, heated slate tiles, and a double marble vanity. The second bedroom includes an en-suite marble bathroom. Adjacent to the elegant foyer is a powder room with a concrete sink on one side, and a hidden Bosch washer/dryer on the other. Each material, element, and amenity has been engineered to be hidden or seamless: in-wall speakers, automatic shades, custom millwork, connected smart-home AV and cooling systems.

The Chelsea Enclave is a 7-story, 53-unit 24 hour doorman condop that operates as a condo with direct access to a block long landmarked garden known as the "Close." This private park was once an apple orchard in Clement Clarke Moore's 19th century estate. The building also features numerous white glove services including porter staff, on-site garage, fitness center with yoga and Pilates studio, storage, and landscaped roof terraces with panoramic views of the city and High Line. Pets allowed.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
