Property Description for 100 East 53rd Street, 10/11

Imminent Occupancy

On-site Sales Gallery and Model Residences by Appointment

The Duplex Residence at One Hundred East Fifty Third Street offers a rare opportunity to purchase the largest continuous terrace in Manhattan. Situated directly off of the entry gallery, the home’s 5,272 sq. ft. outdoor space is the largest of its kind across one level in any Manhattan condominium and is the only private outdoor space in the entire building.

This gracious 6,646 sq. ft. four bedroom, four-and-a-half bath residence comes with direct double elevator access, arriving at either floor, to find a beautiful keyed rift cut white oak door before stepping into the grand double-height entry gallery outfitted with 8-inch oversized wide-plank white oak flooring, floor-to-ceiling Starphire UV-coated windows, custom full-height curtains and the trademark undulating facade designed by Foster + Partners.

In addition to the double-height entry gallery, the lower level of the home is an entertainer’s dream and features a striking great room with soaring ceilings with generous space for art and bar area as well as a spacious dining room. The Duplex Residence’s intricately designed, sculptural staircase serves as a focal point within the home as a monolithic structural piece, creating an additional composition in the gallery space as it transitions to the home’s second floor, where all living quarters are located.

The Foster + Partners-designed chef’s kitchen features wire-brushed oak cabinetry with integrated pulls and bronze detailing, Gaggenau and Sub-Zero stainless steel appliances including wine storage, an oversized center island, and Italian Carrara marble knife edge countertops and backsplash. With embedded ventilation and LED lighting, The Duplex Residence’s kitchen is a true culinary delight that allows for seamless entertaining.

The master suite encompasses the entire south end of the home’s upper level and includes a massive bedroom seamlessly connected to a sumptuous master bathroom by way of a private dressing room built out with Foster + Partners-designed custom millwork closets. More akin to a private spa, the master bath features Silver Striato travertine radiant heated flooring, wire-brushed oak vanity with Silver Striato travertine slab countertop and integrated sink, freestanding Apaiser soaking tub and glass-enclosed steam shower and water closet, complemented with Aquabrass fixtures throughout. In addition to the master suite, three additional bedrooms are located on the home’s top floor, each outfitted with its own luxurious bathroom.

This elegant and modern residence is further enhanced by a powder room, private service elevator access, concealed Miele washer and dryer, LED lighting throughout, seamlessly integrated linear diffusers, supplemental perimeter under-floor radiant heating, and year-round zoned temperature control via a 4-pipe fan coil HVAC system.

Celebrated interior designer and architect William T. Georgis contributes additional warmth and comfort with a selection of furnishings for both the amenity spaces and the 24-hour attended residential lobby. Hotel-like amenities also include a wellness facility, 60-foot sunlit swimming pool, sauna and steam room, yoga and pilates rooms, highly-curated residential library and residential lounges. In all, One Hundred East Fifty Third Street is not simply a jewel of contemporary architecture, but also an invitation to rethink one’s standards of comfort and elegance.

Residents at One Hundred East Fifty Third Street now receive priority reservations to the tower’s two new restaurants – Shun and Le Jardinier – from Chef Alain Verzeroli, who worked under Joël Robuchon for 21 years and most recently served as Director of Culinary Operation at Château Restaurant Joël Robuchon in Tokyo.

Midtown East | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Midtown West and Midtown East have a lot in common. They’re bustling, iconic, and full of people. But just like siblings, their personalities can be vastly different. Midtown East is a bit more sophisticated and doesn’t quite have the vivacity and unruliness that its westerly counterpart exudes.

Midtown East is bordered by 42nd to the south, 59th Street to the north, 5th Avenue to the west, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is famous for its high-end stores, tourist attractions, posh hotels (budget ones too), and iconic architecture. Midtown East is also one of the largest financial and business hubs in Manhattan. During normal business hours the sidewalks are full of commuters and people moving from point A to point B. In the early evening, when the masses have left for the day, things suddenly get a little quieter and the sidewalks have a lot less foot traffic.

Although largely a commercial neighborhood, residential areas of Midtown East do exist on the eastern section of the neighborhood.

Grand Central Station is located in Midtown East and like Midtown West, it’s an extremely commutable neighborhood. The 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains whisk people in and out of the neighborhood 24 hours a day. Grand Central Station also serves as a hub for New York State and Connecticut commuter rails. These trains can take you anywhere along the Hudson River or up into Connecticut. It’s perfect for day tripping.
