Property Description for 560 Dean Street, 3-R

Simply stunning -- Sprawling 3 Bedroom 2 Bath floor through in prime Prospect Heights location available October 1st. Plus, there's a home office and laundry in the unit!

Mixing old world charm with modern conveniences, this architecturally designed apartment has everything needed for todays busy lifestyle. The spacious living room has three large windows framed with original oak moldings, allowing light and air to waft through. The original oak floors with mahogany borders have been restored to original condition, and an antique fireplace with turned oak mantel is the centerpiece of the room. Just past the original fretwork and your formal dining room (yes, there's a dining room) is the chef's quality kitchen. Along with a window overlooking the back garden, the kitchen features a 6 burner Wolf range, a new Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, Miele Dishwasher, a Miele combination wall convection oven/microwave, plus a wine fridge! Custom hardwood cabinets give plenty storage, and the expansive Caeserstone counters allow for plenty of room to create extravagant meals for family and friends, (there's even a breakfast bar for feeding the crowd on busy morning).

Down the hall, the private living quarters have all been remodeled with comfort and style in mind. The Master bedroom has two Southwest facing corner windows, allowing light to fill the room. An antique 6 panel door leads to the Master Bath that has all the hallmarks you'd expect: classic subway tile patterns and mosaic floors, pedestal sink and an inviting bathtub to ease away the day's stress. Down the hall, past myriad closets, (there's no shortage of storage!) is a second, smartly designed full bath of the same style with full-sized shower. The other two bedrooms are ample size and feature full-sized closets, but the hidden gem is the dedicated home office -- windowed with a lovely built-in desk, it's the perfect place to close the door and focus on whatever task is at hand.

If this weren't enough, this bright and airy apartment also has in unit Washer and Dryer, plenty of closet space and additional storage in the basement. There's a bike rack there as well..

As mentioned, the location is sublime: 560 Dean Street is at the crux of all that's happening in Brooklyn at the moment. The Barclay Center is a stones throw away. BAM is an easy walk to catch the latest in arts and cinema. All the eateries in Prospect Heights, (Zaytoons, The Vanderbilt, Ample Hills Creamery, Morgan's BBQ) 5th Avenue Park Slope (Bogata, Al Di La, BK Ne Gril, Kei Sushi) and the City Point Food Court are at your feet. Afternoons at the Botanic Garden or Prospect Park are a breeze. And if transportation is a concern, The Atlantic Terminal with about every train that runs through Brooklyn is 3 blocks away.

Location, comfort, convenience -- it's all here. Call for a showing today.

Prospect Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Prospect Heights is a small residential neighborhood surrounded by big attractions. It’s rich in culture and offers the perfect blend of old Brooklyn charm and modern-day hipness.

Residents of this tight-knit community include young professionals, families and long-time residents. It’s a walkers paradise - just steps from Prospect Park and a short walking distance to neighborhoods like Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Green and Clinton. You’re close to culture too. Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Library, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Barclays Center are all nearby.

Prospect Heights is bordered by Flatbush Avenue to the west, Washington Avenue to the east, Atlantic Avenue and Dean Street to the north and Eastern Parkway to the south.

Prospect Heights, like many areas of New York City, was first inhabited by indigenous tribes and eventually settled by the Dutch and turned into farmland.

A significant part of the Revolutionary War was fought in Prospect Heights and the surrounding areas. Known as the Battle of Brooklyn, it was the first military engagement following the Declaration of Independence. Things didn’t go so well for American forces so they retreated and the British occupied Manhattan for several years after the Battle of Brooklyn.

In 1867, the opening of Prospect Park caused major housing growth in Prospect Heights. The middle-class neighborhood was soon populated by Jewish, Italian, and Irish workers. Many of which were shop-owners or employed as laborers in nearby factories.

Housing in Prospect Heights includes single-family row houses, historic townhouses, co-ops, and new luxury condos. The median listed price for a 1-bedroom in Prospect Heights is $680,000 with an average price per square foot is $944.

The neighborhood's commercial artery runs along Vanderbilt Avenue and Washington Avenue. The variety of businesses adds to the charm of the neighborhood. They include bars, pubs, restaurants and mom-and-pop stores of all types. The shops and eateries are a perfect alternative to the big-name attractions that bracket the neighborhood. It's a little bit of everything in this neighborhood.

Subways are plentiful in Prospect Heights. Its proximity to Manhattan is another perk of the neighborhood. It's about a half-hour train ride. The B, D, N, Q, R, 2, 3, 4 and 5 subway lines all serve the Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center station. 2, 3, 4, B and Q trains cover the neighborhood and the A and C trains are nearby too.
