Property Description for 200 West 24th Street, 6-A

Welcome home to one of the brightest, warmest and most artistic corner apartments in Chelsea! This approximately 1350 SF residence with all four exposures and walls of windows features high ceilings, hardwood oak floors, a sprawling and flexible layout with a massive living and dining space, vented washer and dryer units, and more closets than you can imagine! The windowed and renovated gourmet kitchen boasts granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, tile backsplash, and plentiful honey wood cabinets and storage. The king-sized master bedroom hosts four large closets, and an en suite windowed bathroom with double sinks, limestone counters and floors, separate glass-enclosed shower and bath tub.

Other highlights of this sleek turn-key home include wiring for surround sound, an abundance of lighting, and a spacious second bedroom with adjacent windowed guest bathroom, complete with a pedestal sink. The apartment is remarkably quiet, as the sound-proof windows have all been upgraded and have custom-fitted screens. Additionally, a substantial storage room conveys with the sale and all the electricals and three of the A/C and heating units have been replaced in the past few years.

This financially sound and pet-friendly boutique condo features an unbelievably beautiful landscaped rooftop terrace, part-time doorman (8am-8pm Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm Saturday), video intercom, wonderful local super and just two apartments per floor. Located right across the street from Whole Foods, and close to Trader Joe's, Fairway, Eataly, Chelsea Market and Madison Square Park, plus Chelsea Piers, the Highline Park, the Avenues School, every 23rd Street subway and bus lines, and all the area's best shopping, art galleries, restaurants and nightlife.

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
