84 THOMAS STREET #4, A PRIVATE KEY LOCKED ELEVATOR INTO THE ENTIRE 4TH FLOOR SPACE. A HUGE 3 BEDROOM 3 BATHROOM TOTALLY RENOVATED LOFT IN ONE OF THE QUIETEST AND BEST BLOCKS IN TRIBECA AND WITH A VERY LOW MAINTENANCE.

This is a true Tribeca loft! From the quiet industrial diamond plate stairway on Thomas Street you will see that this 1870 historic coop building has maintained its character of days gone by. You enter the 4th floor from the private-keyed elevator onto this sprawling space which is approximately 2,400 sq. ft. You will immediately notice the wonderful combination of both modern and prewar details those of which are the exposed red and white brick walls, the 10' plus high ceilings, the 7 original wood beam columns that flow from North to South of the entire space, the restored original hard wood floor, the heavy protective metal doors & pocket door, and the over-sized windows with two exposures all add to the splendor and originality of this loft. This beauty has the finest renovations and the widest living room of any loft around. There are three large windows at the front of the building facing north with colorful Art deco views onto Thomas Street and four windows at the back facing south onto a quiet courtyard perfect for where the bedrooms are located. The space gets an incredible amount of light both front and back. There is a Mitsubishi three zone HVAC system for the floor and a video intercom system for the main entrance/door. The space is divided between a huge living space with an open California kitchen, laundry room intersection and the three bedrooms with two bathrooms at the south side of the loft.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
