Property Description for 42 Lispenard Street, 4

Unit 4 at 42 Lispenard Street is a hidden gem exemplifying the perfect blend of high-end luxury and downtown sophistication. This pristine home is a loft lovers dream offering 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms all of which have been meticulously customized resulting in a sleek, contemporary full floor home set within the frame of a classic, pre-war cast iron building. Boasting 10 9 ceilings and measuring over 2,000 square feet, this impressive home has a private, keyed elevator entrance and features 8-wide plank oak floors, custom gas fireplace, custom built-ins, two generous walk-in closets, solid oak doors, multi-zone central heat and A/C and an in-unit washer and dryer. Entering through the keyed elevator is the open living, dining room and kitchen. Bathed in natural light from its four oversized, double-hung north-facing windows with marble mantles, the room is spacious yet welcoming. Custom details include Marmorino Venetian plaster-finished walls with gilded accents in Moon 22.5 karat gold and palladium leaves, marble encased gas fireplace, a wall of built-in shelving and cabinets, all of which is complimented by a custom mixed media and metallic glaze wall and ceiling finish in the dining area. The open kitchen is finished with modern white cabinetry from Poliform, Calacatta Gold marble countertops and backsplash and a massive waterfall marble island. Appliances are from Miele and Wolf. Occupying the south end of the loft are the two large bedrooms. The master bedroom features a warm accent wall in a French patina-inspired finish, a built-in headboard and side tables. The customized and exquisitely built-out walk-through closet and dressing room boasts custom patina on brass glass doors with bronze handles and a Moon gold leaf ceiling. The en suite 5-piece master bathroom has been discerningly finished in a combination of marble and rich custom-stained rift oak and has a glass-enclosed marble steam shower. The second bedroom has its own en suite bathroom that is graphically styled in all black and white with floor-to-ceiling wall tile, a white pedestal sink and walk-in shower with a rain shower head. Additional highlights include another generously sized walk-in closet, separate laundry room and powder room. 42 Lispenard is a 4-unit 5-story boutique pre-war condominium located at the crossroads Tribeca, Soho, Chinatown and Little Italy. Built in 1915, this cast-iron building was once home to Manhattans famed Pearl Paint. The building is serviced by a virtual doorman and each unit comes with private storage. There is a diverse and eclectic assortment of shops, restaurants, bars and galleries in the immediate and surrounding area as well as access to multiple subway lines via Canal Street.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
