Property Description for 154 Clifton Place

Echoes of Mondrian's style and sensibility come to mind when first seeing the mixed media exterior of 154 Clifton Place. If you want ordinary or cookie-cutter you should look elsewhere. This spectacularly renovated 2-family home in much-beloved Clinton Hill will not disappoint.Head up the stoop and into the owner's 4- bedroom triplex with roof deck. On the parlor level you are welcomed by exposed brick-accented walls, serene wood floors and a decorative fireplace. Oversized windows on either end of the house will keep the sunshine coming all day long. An artistic and thoughtfully designed kitchen is all about contrasting textures and a cool gray and white palette. An abundance of cabinet and counter space make this the chef's kingdom for dining inside or bringing the mastery out onto the deck overlooking a backyard of pavers and blond wood benches and fencing. A powder room refines this eye-opening floor.Up the stairs you will find 3 large bedrooms filled with light and large closets. Two finely appointed full bathrooms - and even a laundry room - make this floor complete. Now in most homes you may simply stop there (but don't, you'd regret it) head up the stairs again to the master bedroom floor replete with an absolutely stunning black and white en suite master bathroom - a giant glassed-in shower stall and a geometric deep soaking tub with a window to peer from make this room fit for royalty (or at least some glasses of champagne and candles). The bedroom itself is spacious and features a decorative fireplace, a walk-in closet like no other and a deck that runs the width of the house. And if the deck isn't quite enough for you, ascend the stairs to your roof deck with views for miles and endless summer sunsets. And with great beauty and design also comes great smarts: a garden level 2-bedroom rental along with lower level finished rec room and even a large storage area make this a rental property that will be snapped up in no time!Clinton Hill is desirable, beautiful and filled with a dizzying array of restaurant and bar options as well as shopping. 154 Clifton Place only adds extra shine to an already sparkling neighborhood.

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
