Property Description for 2 Cornelia Street, 806

Sunny 1 bedroom in the heart of West Greenwich Village. Oversized windows in living and bedroom allow for 180 degrees of unobstructed viewing of the city, from the Empire State Building to One World Trade Center. Peek out the bedroom window to see 1 World Trade, and look out the living room windows to see everything west and partially north. Truly spectacular. The open kitchen has new Thermador stainless appliances and features a 5 foot calacatta gold quartz island counter with seating for 3 (or more) and lots of cabinets underneath. The generously sized living room is great for entertaining, and elegantly displays 11-foot high-beam ceilings and re-finished plank hardwood floors. The living room also boasts three oversized windows that consume most of the northern wall and another facing west. There is plenty of room to add a small dining table. The large bedroom can easily fit a king bed and features a built-in closet with 5 doors. An oversized window facing southwest completes the room by drawing in abundant natural sunlight. The bathroom is renovated with a custom vanity, white subway tile, and gray pebble accents. Stay comfortably cool in the summer with ducted central air conditioning, or go to the roof deck for some fresh air. Two Cornelia Street features a full-time doorman, live-in resident manager, roof deck with panoramic views and newly renovated central laundry. Two Cornelia Street is located in the heart of Greenwich Village, a unique flatiron-style building distinct from the surrounding low-rise buildings, on the West Side of 6th Avenue. Built in 1900 to house light-manufacturing, offices, and artists studios, 2 Cornelia Street, was converted to a luxury condominium in 1981, and is now a historic landmark. The atypical building form is part of the appeal to residents as the individual apartments are uniquely laid out, with high 11 + ceilings. Cornelia Street is a charming 1-block long Village street running between West 4th Street and Bleecker Street and is within steps of everything Greenwich Village has to offer. Two of the top area restaurants are also located on the street, Po, at 31 Cornelia and Pearl Oyster Bar, 18 Cornelia Street. Within a few blocks is the local favorite, The BlindTiger Ale House, famous for its many taps of craft beer, Johns Pizza, and the 6th Avenue basketball courts. Two Cornelia Street is one block away from many subways (A,B,C,D,D,F) and only 1 block away from Washington Square Park and NYU. The apartment is also only three blocks to the PATH and (1,2) subway lines. The apartment is also available completely furnished for $6,400 per month.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
